  1. Just a small UI update to include 15 minute marks to better gauge time at glance, and maybe at zoom level show 5 or 10 minute hash marks

  2. Maybe I have misunderstood the functions, but I want my productivity rate increase on certain web pages, since i use some tools on webpages. But some other pages i don't want to count as productivity at all. When I add firefox to the productivity thing then I only have a choice to enter titles on web pages that gives more productivity score, but it seems like other pages in firefox counts as productivity too? Am I right? I want som pages to count as productivity and some not at all.

  3. The productivity score involves defining which applications are considered productive to get a percent score. I'd like to be able "Play my day" with just the applications I consider as productive being included in the timeline.

    • add new Day Browser filter: "(Pinned snapshots)", analogous to the current "(Productive time)" and "(Unproductive time)"

    • possibly use a different colour or other visual indicator for pinned shots in the timeline

Without either, if you want to locate pinned items you either have to step through the browser frame-by-frame or trigger auto-deletion to get rid of the unpinned shots.

  5. I would like to see a mobile version of this app, a lot of my computing has moved to my iPhone and iPad. I rely heavily on TimeSnapper to help me keep track of my activity and it has no ability to reach my mobile devices.

I understand that most mobile operating systems do n allow the level of access it would need, so it might need to be limited to jailbroken devices. I suggest exploring the idea to determine if it can be done and done profitably.

Please post the results in the FAQ.

    Thank you for a great…

  6. Ideally, combine the UI of the current productivity wizard and the dialog used to exclude images from capture.

For example, I don't want to define Outlook.exe as such as a productive app. But I often define certain email subjects (that are reflected in the window title) as productive. Currently I either have to copy&paste the subject (or relevant portions thereof) or type it manually into the productivity wizard. Likewise, sometimes I don't want to define an entire domain as productive but only certain sub-paths (this does currently not appear to be possible at all).

It would therefore be great if,…

  7. Can we have a default view for the Time Range?
When comparing different days it's easier if it doesn't zoom differently for every day.

A good starting point for a default would be 8am to 6pm. That would cover 90% of use cases. It could be an optional, configurable setting.

    Thanks

  8. I only capture the active window. This can be anything from a small dropdown menu to a multi-monitor RDP session. The latter wouldn't fit into the day browser at 100% zoom but the former would be a little too "in-the-face" with the current "(To Fit)"-setting. I therefore suggest adding a zoom setting that only scales down to fit but never zooms up.

  9. The timesheet integration is great if you have full SQL access to the timesheet system, but in some environments you have an API without SQL access (like in a Microsoft Project Server environment). It would be nice to be able to write a plugin for timesheet integration rather than requiring SQL.

The SQL integration could then also be written as a plugin that ships with TimeSnapper by default. Timesheet integration would be done by selecting the desired plugin and configuring that plugin.

  11. Unless I missed it, there is no actual manual for the software. It's easy to use, but a proper manual would really be nice. The info on the website is in several different places, and most of it is really only a features listing showing WHAT can be done, but not HOW to do it.

  12. I often have the problem that I am moving through the day browser using the arrow keys and the screen updates are significantly lagging behind my key presses (this happens especially with large screenshots, e.g. from a multi-monitor RDP-session - see my other request). By the time I have found the shot I was looking for, it seems the keyboard buffer has often filled up so much that the day browser skips a couple of frames further (often it's much more than just a couple). I have seen this behaviour on all three machines that I have used TS on…

  13. Store a list of tasks in a text file for use by the a start/stop timer for the tags and reports. Accessing a separate database for a few dozen items is overcomplicated overkill. It's fairly easy to read in a text file and store it in memory by hash values for quick access. The software wouldn't even have to maintain the file, to make it simpler.

  14. Currently, filenames have only timestamps and the folders they go in are datestamps. Create an option that allows the date to be part of the filename with the timestamp

  15. I've used TimeSnapper Classic for about a week and decided to give the Pro version a try. I keep close watch on my cpu temperatures with audible warnings at different temperature ranges. With the Classic version, I never got any alerts. However, the Pro version is definitely using quite a bit of cpu processes to just take a screenshot. Every time the snap is taken TS uses anywhere from 25 to 30% of the cpu processes. The only way that I could get better control of this was to check the low priority Option, set the Affinity in the Windows…

  16. Allow users to set password for pause & play back images. It will be great if the application is totally hidden not even in system tray.

  17. Say I lock my computer and go to a meeting for an hour. It seems a little wasteful to have 3,600 screenshots of "Press Ctrl+Alt+Del to unlock this computer" (assuming I capture every second).

  18. Add the ability to add two flags to be entered when selecting a time frame in the playback view, and by right clicking on the selection to add the new flag, place one at the start of the selection, and have the second placed at the end of the selection - either a empty or have it prefilled with the same task details as before the new selection's flag.
