TimeSnapper v3.9.0.3 does not capture capture apps launched as Administrator
I've recently updated TimeSnapper and noticed today that v3.9.0.3 does not capture capture Visual Studio when ran as Administrator.
I've sent screenshots to support@timesnapper.com on 8/09/2015
(Running Windows 10 with a triple monitor setup)

Output time-lapse video of my work
I am a work-from-home software developer and I bill clients by the hour. I would like to take a block of time and export the playback to a common video format (like mp4) so I can give it to my clients as proof of how much work I did on their project. While I generally have good trust with my clients, this kind of proof removes any doubt that I may have padded my bill with time that I was not actually working.

implement a solution to allow "remote" capturing
I work quite a lot over RDP and with virtual machines. Of course, TS can capture these just fine but it obviously cannot capture window titles and URLs inside the remote session and it will also always capture the entire remote session rather than just the active window inside that session.
I think it would be great if all of the above would still work inside the RDP/VM-window (without having to buy additional licenses to install TS on the guest machines).
I'm not yet sure what would be the best approach to this. One thing I can think of would…

Make keyboard shortcuts configurable. They don't work in Windows 8.1
Win+s does not anymore popup timesnapper in windows 8.1 as it brings up the windows search box. Any other win+ key combination does not seem to work either.
16 votesFor now, we suggest using Win+W. In a future version we will allow other modifiers.

Create Projects and allow users to snapshots by project
By doing this, I can easily set up various projects, then skim through my work history for any given project to see what I was working on, and how long I worked on it.

Allow plugins for task lookup
The task lookup integration is great if you have full SQL access to the source of the task list, but in some environments you have an API without SQL access (like in a Microsoft Project Server environment). It would be nice to be able to write a plugin for task lookup integration rather than requiring SQL.
The SQL integration could then also be written as a plugin that ships with TimeSnapper by default. Task lookup integration would be done by selecting the desired plugin and configuring that plugin.

Allow my secretary to view my screenshots on her computer.
It sometimes takes me 1/2 an hour to fill out my time sheet by viewing snapshots. It would be ideal if my secretary could view my snapshots at her computer to rough out a time sheet for me, but without interrupting the time capture on my machine while she does that.

make it easier to define productive apps/sites by window title/URL
Ideally, combine the UI of the current productivity wizard and the dialog used to exclude images from capture.
For example, I don't want to define Outlook.exe as such as a productive app. But I often define certain email subjects (that are reflected in the window title) as productive. Currently I either have to copy&paste the subject (or relevant portions thereof) or type it manually into the productivity wizard. Likewise, sometimes I don't want to define an entire domain as productive but only certain sub-paths (this does currently not appear to be possible at all).
It would therefore be great if,…

optionally allow the default to be productive time and the exception list to be non-productive time
flip the default/exception behavior so that any time is presumed to be productive unless one of the configs (app, keyword) matches, in which case it is unproductive.

Store images in zip files
I have a long history of time snapper images (about one and a half years of daily work) and I like to keep a backup of my timesnapper images. However because there are so many small files the backup process takes quite a long time because it checks all files for changes. It would be neat if the snapshots could optionally be stored inside an archive format per day like a .zip or a .tar file. Less files, faster backups.

make it easier to locate pinned snapshots
add new Day Browser filter: "(Pinned snapshots)", analogous to the current "(Productive time)" and "(Unproductive time)"
possibly use a different colour or other visual indicator for pinned shots in the timeline
Without either, if you want to locate pinned items you either have to step through the browser frame-by-frame or trigger auto-deletion to get rid of the unpinned shots.

Add support for more than 3 monitors (screens)
Can we remove the TimeSnapper limit of maximum 3 screens? For the majority of my use case, all of the computers have 4 screens attached.

You set your working hours and working days, and it only counts this toward your productivity score.

Allow plugins for timesheet integration
The timesheet integration is great if you have full SQL access to the timesheet system, but in some environments you have an API without SQL access (like in a Microsoft Project Server environment). It would be nice to be able to write a plugin for timesheet integration rather than requiring SQL.
The SQL integration could then also be written as a plugin that ships with TimeSnapper by default. Timesheet integration would be done by selecting the desired plugin and configuring that plugin.

Update Firefox URL Extraction
Firefox URL extraction has been broken for a couple of years now. Would love to see this working again like it does in Chrome. 🙏

Store a list of tasks to keep track of start/stop in a simple text file. Software can read, hash, and store a large enough list of items.
Store a list of tasks in a text file for use by the a start/stop timer for the tags and reports. Accessing a separate database for a few dozen items is overcomplicated overkill. It's fairly easy to read in a text file and store it in memory by hash values for quick access. The software wouldn't even have to maintain the file, to make it simpler.

Make the OK button default on the "Flag Info" dialog.
Currently you have to click on the OK button or press "Alt-O" to save and close the "Flag Info" dialog.
It would be quicker if I could just press Enter.7 votes
